Loving the Ego

Matt and I always share our thoughts with one another… we shine the light of awareness on the ebb and flow of thought, and to be conscious of what we are accepting and loving next.

So, I had a thought today, and I’d love to share it with you.

As we know, the ego is not our enemy, to be pushed away, or resisted. It’s helpful in getting certain tasks done in life, and it always thinks it is an essential part of our lives by being on the look out for potential “problems” and warning of dangers. However, today, it occurred to me that the ego is more like an old friend, but one we aren’t going to necessarily be hanging around with anymore.

It’s the friend that still lives on the block and in the neighborhood, but you just don’t go over to its house anymore to play. It’s a friend that’s still in your address book, but you no longer feel the pull to call or email.

Loving the spaciousness in that,
Julie
